Chapter 107: Small Kindnesses (سورة الماعون)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ

Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?

[Small Kindnesses 107:1]

فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ

For that is the one who drives away the orphan

[Small Kindnesses 107:2]

وَلاَ يَحُضُّ عَلَى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ

And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

[Small Kindnesses 107:3]

فَوَيْلٌ لِلْمُصَلِّينَ

So woe to those who pray

[Small Kindnesses 107:4]

الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ صَلاَتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ

[But] who are heedless of their prayer -

[Small Kindnesses 107:5]

الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ

Those who make show [of their deeds]

[Small Kindnesses 107:6]

وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ

And withhold [simple] assistance.

[Small Kindnesses 107:7]
